About Us

Human Service Trust Zambia had been regularly holding assembly of its members with a view to achieve one of its objectives of inculcating and promoting human and spiritual values amongst its members. 

Human Service Trust had been utilizing its resources by giving donations to individuals and institutions needing assistance. Some of our charitable activities have been:

Children In Need
Human Service Trust in conjunction with the Zambia Red Cross provided mid-day meals to about 150 children at the Garden Compound Drop-in Centre from April, 1998 to December, 2000. HST also provided daily amenities to the children.

ZASCODEO
Human Service Trust provided mid-day meal to about 400 children of the school in Chipata Compound of Lusaka for about 3 years. It also looked after about 15 orphans of the same school by providing boarding and lodging facilities.

Matero Aftercare Centre
Human Service Trust looked after the needs of the inmates of Matero Aftercare Centre for over eight years.

Vocational Training
Human Service Trust had been providing vocational training in carpentry and tailoring at the Garden Compound.

Health Care
Human Service Trust used to organize free eye diagnostic and surgical camps for operation of cataract in the rural health centers for over 10 years. Dr S.M Shukla and Dr Sheila Bhatti, both eye specialists used to offer their free services for the purpose. Since their departure from the country, Human Service Trust has not been able to offer this service to the community.

University Teaching Hospital
Human Service Trust had donated the laser machine to the Eye department of University Teaching Hospital and used to donate blankets, linen and other clinical items.

Human Service Trust, Zambia continues to hold regular meetings with the objective of inculcating and promoting human and spiritual values amongst its members. Human Service Trust has the patronage of many prominent members of the Indian community residing in Zambia and abroad, and has an alliance with Human Service Trusts working with similar objectives in Mauritius, USA, UK and Ghana.
